Two great flavors that always go together!
Chocolate and Peanut Butter are two flavors that always go together. Yummy chocolate and yummy peanut butter! This happens to be one of my favorite options for smoothies that I think you will like too! Having a Chocolate Peanut Butter Smoothie in the morning gives you that wake up call to start your day. Cold, thick, chocolaty flavor paired with a hint of peanut butter will not only wake up those morning taste buds but also keep you satisfied a little bit longer than a bowl of cereal or “grab and go” fruit out the door. Try this healthy alternative smoothie!
Thick or Thin? Spoon or Straw?
What’s your preference in smoothie style? Some like it thick and some like it thin. Me personally, the thicker, the better! Yum! I like to eat my smoothies with a spoon versus drinking them through a straw. It’s all in the amount of liquid you add and the amount of frozen fruit or ice you use.
For thicker smoothies decrease the liquids. Increase the frozen items whether you use frozen bananas or ice.
For thinner smoothies you will want to increase the liquids and or decrease the frozen fruits and or ice. You can also alter the flavor when you add more liquids so be prepared to add more chocolate if you love chocolate or more peanut butter if you love that too!
Let’s Make Our Chocolate Peanut Butter Smoothie Healthy!
Let’s talk about peanut butter. Who doesn’t love, love, love peanut butter? Not many of us… One thing we may not love, love, love about peanut butter is the fat content. Oh my, there is plenty of fat in our favorite treat. What if we could minimize the fat by 90%. Would that make you a little more excited about this super smoothie treat?
- 1 cup coconut milk or any milk of choice (use less for thicker smoothies)
- 2 bananas (frozen if you like thicker smoothies)
- 5 T PBfit Peanut Butter Powder
- 2 T Coco
- 2 T Agave
- ½ Avacado
- 1 tray ice cubes (16) Use more if you like it thick
- Add milk to favorite blender. Add rest of ingredients without ice and blend. Last add ice cubes and blend until ice is finely chopped. Enjoy!
Check out this Alternative Low Fat Peanut Butter (PBfit)
My mom found this at Walmart in Florida while shopping for Chia Seeds. She was visiting my Great Aunt and Uncle and wanted to make our Chocolate Chia Seed Pudding Dessert and happened upon a sample size of this amazing peanut butter alternative. She liked it so much she bought a large jar when she came home from her fun-filled family trip. (SEE VACATION HIGHLIGHTS BELOW!) We tried it out and it tastes really great. The amazing fact of having 90% less fat, all natural, vegan, gluten free, Non GMO (genetically modified organism) made it taste even better!
Take a look at the nutrition labels of traditional peanut butter and PBfit:
Traditional Peanut Butter – 15g Total Fat per 2 Tbsp. Serving
PBfit – 1.5g Total Fat per 2 Tbsp. Serving
What’s PBfit Look Like You Ask?
It comes in a powder form and you mix with a little bit of water. It’s not as sticky and smooth as traditional peanut butter. It has more of the natural peanut butter texture. The taste to our family was very comparable. It’s all natural, vegan and gluten free! It is a perfect ingredient to make your chocolate peanut butter smoothie or any peanut butter recipe healthy!
Everyone has different tastes buds and yours could be very different from ours. They do provide sample packets so I would recommend you try one of those if you have some hesitation.
We did a side by side comparison. See if you can guess which one is PBfit peanut butter and which one is traditional peanut butter? The answer is at the bottom of the page.
We’ve provided a link to AMAZON to purchase the PB Fit Peanut Butter Powder. If you have Amazon Prime you can get it next day, FREE Shipping. The price is as good as Walmart!
