It’s Blueberry Season, finally!! Fresh, ripe, succulent blueberries straight from the patch makes the BEST recipe for any type YOU choose. You just can’t beat the flavor of a fresh bunch of blueberries. Want to add a special recipe to your favorite list? How about a creamy, healthy Blueberry Frozen Yogurt that will send you right into blueberry heaven!
We are now at week 7 for our Friday FRoYo Frenzy Flavors! Only 2 Fridays left!!
The end of blueberry season is coming upon us. I love blueberries so much I go to our nearest blueberry patch and get several pounds. What I don’t use for baking, I freeze for, well… as long as they last. It would be great if they lasted until next year but most of the time they don’t even make it through fall.
Whether it’s blueberry pancakes, blueberry muffins or just eating fresh frozen blueberries right out of the freezer bag I just can’t seem to get enough. So naturally one of our Friday FRoYo Frenzy Flavors should be…Blueberry Frozen Yogurt.
Besides the amazing flavor and healthy nutrients of fresh picked blueberries, they also have a much lower water content than the blueberries you buy frozen in the store. This makes for a perfect creamy Blueberry FRoYo recipe.
As always, I recommend using a FOOD PROCESSOR for all your FRoYo recipes. It’s easier to scoop out frozen ingredients from a FOOD PROCESSOR than a blender. If you click on the link you’ll find one I would love to have. It has a built in scraper that looks amazing and the price is very affordable. Since I’m practical I won’t be buying it yet since my old faithful is still alive and working great. If you purchase it let us know how you like it.
As you can see there are still chunks of blueberries left after mixing in the FOOD PROCESSOR. This is because I love to feel like I’m really eating blueberries in my FRoYo. If YOU like a more smoother texture, feel free to process away until you find your desired texture.
Pour into a freezer safe container, cover and freeze for 4-6 hours before serving. I usually leave the container on the counter for 10-20 minutes before serving for easier scooping.
