Do you ever melt chocolate for decorating purposes or to drizzle cookies? You always seem to have chocolate left over, don’t you? Sometimes you try to use everything you have but it’s still too much or you leave it in the bowl and then try to chop it up after it’s hardened but it is stuck to the bowl. Well I have a solution for you and all you need is parchment paper and a disposable pastry bag.
So, here’s what you do. First tape some parchment table to a clean kitchen surface or a sheet tray. Fill the pastry bag with as much chocolate as you can. You should probably wait until the chocolate cools down a little bit or use a glove of some sort because that chocolate can be hot!
Next, start piping circles of chocolate onto the parchment paper. Wait until it cools completely; if you want fast cooling just pop them in the freezer for about 10 minutes and then you have some home-made chocolate chips! You can then use them in cookies or melt them all over again. Make sure to store them in an airtight bag or container until use.
